Unlike most frontend frameworks, PHP performs server-side operations in addition to the client-side script. This is why robo-advisors use it as well. JSP, which is similar to PHP, is rarely used.

Frameworks, such as Backbone.js and Ember.js, are used in few robo-advisors.
