GreenPortfolio Builds a Tool to Unlock Climate-Conscious Investing and Banking

[New York, USA]—GreenPortfolio is poised to transform the climate-conscious investing and banking landscape by providing a transparent and accurate assessment of financial products' climate impacts. Addressing the alarming statistic that 69% of ESG funds are invested in fossil fuels, the startup offers a solution that genuinely aligns with climate-first values.

GreenPortfolio empowers everyday investors to see the climate impact of their investments and bank accounts. Unlike traditional ESG ratings that often fall short, GreenPortfolio delivers accurate, science-backed metrics, ensuring customers can trust the information they receive. By analyzing over 24,000 banks, stocks, and funds, GreenPortfolio ranks them based on climate impact, cutting through all the industry’s greenwashing.

The stratup provides a user-friendly platform where individuals can securely sync their bank accounts and investments to receive a comprehensive climate impact score. This score reveals how their money is being used, from fossil fuel production to coal exploration. Users can then explore greener alternatives, set climate impact goals, and track their progress over time

Core offerings of GreenPortfolio include:
- Climate metrics: impact data with no greenwashing
- Zero corporate bias: transparent data-driven insights
- Comprehensive reviews of financial solutions: green investing, robo-advising and banking

GreenPortfolio is backed by notable organizations, including IBM, Clean Energy Venture Group, R/GA Ventures, NYSERDA, E2, and Columbia's Lab-to-Market Accelerator Network, underscoring the platform's credibility and potential for significant impact.

The startup’s leadership team brings over 50 years of combined experience in finance, climate science, and data analysis. The company's founders, Bonnie Gurry (Co-Founder and CEO) and Elizabeth Landau (Co-Founder and COO) launched GreenPortfolio after facing difficulties in aligning their own finances with their climate values. Their mission is to make it easier for others to do the same.

“Understanding the true impact of our financial choices on the climate is more important than ever. At GreenPortfolio, we aim to provide clear, accurate information so people can make decisions that align with their values,” said Bonnie Gurry, Co-Founder and CEO of GreenPortfolio.

“We built GreenPortfolio because we realized that many so-called 'green' financial products were actually contributing to climate change. Our platform cuts through the noise and provides trusted, science-backed metrics,” added Elizabeth Landau, Co-Founder and COO.

Bonnie's career in clean energy includes roles as North American Clean Energy Lead at BASF and Renewable Energy Resources and Technology Engineer at the New York Power Authority. She holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech, and an M.B.A. from NYU Stern School of Business.

Elizabeth has over a decade of leadership experience in B2B and B2C markets, focusing on brand management and innovation. She has worked with companies like BASF and Anheuser Busch. Elizabeth holds a B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from NYU Stern School of Business.

Arthur Jordan Jr., CTO, has over 20 years of technology experience. Arthur has contributed to mission-driven organizations such as the Obama ’08 campaign HQ and ed-tech startup 2U. He has led technology teams at various NYC startups and nonprofits.
